Mercy Clinic Fort Smith and ACHE are teaming up to build a 13,500-square-foot clinic on the college’s Chaffee Crossing lot. The clinic has 28 examination rooms, X-ray rooms, staging rooms, laboratories and meeting rooms to meet the training needs of the new Arkansas College of Osteopathic Medicine. College students and graduates receive clinical training at facilities opposite the university. The clinic will house eight doctors, three nurses and about 30 support staff. The construction period is expected to be nine months.
